William & Mary Furniture

The William and Mary Period in America begins in the 17th century and continues into the first quarter of the 18th century, approximately from 1675 to 1725. This period features furniture with broad cases decorated in veneer and paint, applied moldings on the case facades, as well as turned legs and feet. Bannister back and ladder back chairs are most common during the William and Mary Period.
